VP The Introvert takes Morocco ..... with four other girls

So this year I decided to travel more and what better way to start than a quick trip to Morocco. I knew this trip would be an experience not only because of the country I was travelling to but because I was travelling with FOUR other GIRLS, three of which I had never met..... risky I know lol.
As a self proclaimed introvert I knew this trip would consist of drama drama drama and it was a perfect example of why I choose to keep myself to myself. There were times in group situations I found myself zoning out or thinking about other things. Now that i think of it there were many times I zoned out.... simply because I lost interest in the discussions being had lol.

Now back to the trip. Upon arrival at the airport Zina (my friend and the only girl I knew on the trip) and I went to relax in the lounge and it was greatttt.....mmmm the browniessss.

Once in Morocco we were greeted by the warm weather and a driver who took us to the apartment.
The best way to describe the décor in the apartment would be 'eclectic', bright colours and very mix and match .....but still beautiful in a weird kind of way. The scenery outside the apartment was also breath taking..... imagine waking up to nice warm weather with the birds chirping in harmony and occasionally you could hear the prayers from the mosque near by. It honestly was a calmly environment.  Also in Morocco or other islamic countries its not uncommon to come across the Hamsa Hand also known as the Hand of Fatima which is usually used as a form of protection and hung on the walls or doors of peoples home.

What did i do in Morocco ?

Hammam

So firstly let me just say a Hammam is basically like a steam bath. you then go to a sauna, you are washed with black soap and exfoliated with rough gloves (to remove all the dead skin). Now.... I had two experiences with this treatment. On the first occasion I went to a beautiful hotel i think it was called Cesar Resort and Spa. After the treatment I felt really good .... refreshed,  not everyone in the group felt the same. Some felt as though the scrub was not hard enough ....and after going to the second place I felt as though this resort was somewhat diluted (it was not pure or traditional) to accommodate the tourists if that makes sense. Everything was soft and not like the traditional Hammams in Medina.

The second place I visited along with two other girls was heavennnnnnnlllyyyyyyyyyyy and cheaper and at this place we got more for our money, sauna, scrub and massage not forgetting some tea .....which is usually offered everywhere you go in Morocco.

If you are travelling to Morocco or Turkey I highly recommend you go for a Hammam.

Ourika Valley, Atlas mountains

Ok...... pause.... wait......  I said I WENT TO OURIKA VALLEY.......mate. I am scared of heights I can't even go up stairs with gaps or bridges... so please tell me why I took myself up a mountain...... in sandals -_- loool i can laugh now because thankfully I am not still up the mountain but please believe I cried real tears up there and its something I definitely would not do again but I am glad I was able to complete it..... its not like  I had a choice though it was either turn back and go down which would mean looking at the possible rocks I could hit on my way down or keep going up and imagine the rocks I could hit if I  took the wrong step lol..... so yeah as I said I had no other choice. But I had a lovellllllllyyyy tour guide who helped me through....... So shout out to you because I literally could not have done it without him.

Quad biking

Great experience and one of my main highlights. It was my first time quad biking and it lasted about two hours. First they teach you how to use the bikes...then boom your off. Oh yeah and Zina and I had an accident and flew off the bikes and I just happened to be vlogging at the same time so defo watch out for that vlog which will be up on our joint Youtube channel  Zina and Nessa. But that did not dampen my spirit and I was back on the bike in no time.

After Quad biking

 555 Marrakesh

One word 'sick' .......two words 'too sick' lol. If you are looking to turn up and have fun this is definitely the place to be. Ladies get in free and free drinks all night (for ladies) what more do you need ... a good atmosphere? .... Well they have that too. The girls and I went on a Saturday and the club was packed it felt like a good night out in London, I had to remind myself that I was in Morocco lol. The music was good and everyone had fun. Ooooh and the staff ( in particular Mohammed) were really nice lol. However if clubbing is not your thing there is a rooftop restaurant with a pool where you could chill and do shisha.  555 Marrakesh and quad biking were defo the highlights of moroccooooooo........yasssssss!!!

TIPS

  1. Learn a bit of french. This makes it easier to interact with the locals.
  2. If taxi drivers tell you a price offer to give them less (when they see you they automatically see ££££).
  3. Dress modestly.
  4. Try immerse yourself into the beautiful culture.

Pinch, Punch, First of the month! .......no returns

So January is over ........ How many of you guys are still on track with the journey that you have mapped out for yourself this year? I am...... not lol. Let me be the first to say that I fell off real quick....but its a new month so lets try again.

I'm not naive in thinking this year is going to go smoothly without any hitches .... I am well aware that I'm going to have many tests in order to lead me to my testimony. So I have words of encouragement I hope to fall back on when things begin to go a bit left :s

Last year I was a grouch and I was probably only happy on certain occasions e.g Birthdays, payday :) and Christmas. So this year by all means I will try and remain happy, this doesn't mean forcing it, it simply means remembering how far I have come and the things I do have to be grateful for.

I have applied for countlessssss jobs (in January) and I have already received countless replies along the lines of  'We regret to inform you that on this occasion you have been ...........Unsuccessful' . At first naturally I was in my feelings as you are when you really want something and don't get it but then I had to remind myself that in order to go through this year I have to accept that I'm going to have more no's than yes .....but that's OK because one thing I do have is faith and I believe whether its the first of January or the 31st of December i will get a job.... how do i know? because I have claimed it ..... WOOO :)

Disclaimer: I do currently have a job lol, I mean a career something long term.

Always look on the bright side of life (whistles) Always look on the light side of life (whistles) (A  virtual high five for anyone that knows that song lol ) But without sounding like a broken record things could be worse and I have made it into 2016. Sooooooo its time to show my gratitude.

So beautiful people don't be discouraged if you have already started to fall back into your old ways. Its the 1st of the month who's to say we can't start again and give our new years resolutions another go :)

Strive with CONSISTENCY and success shall be YOURS.

Hi
Hi
Hi
Hi
Hi

Happy new year!!!! (says VP 18 days later LOL).

My name is VP The Introvert and as of today I am now part of the blogging world :D.

introvert
noun
plural noun: introverts
ˈɪntrəvəːt/
  1. a shy, reticent person.
    • PSYCHOLOGY
a person predominantly concerned with their own thoughts and feelings rather than with external things.

Some myths about introverts:

  1. We don't like to talk... Now this ladies and gentlemen is simply not true introverts just don't talk unless we have something to say, unlike those that simply talk just for the sake of talking.....uh uh you can miss me with all that small talk.
  2. We are rude.... (hmmm LOL) This is not the case introverts just prefer to not beat around the bush with all these social pleasantries that's all and sometimes trying to 'fit in' can be tiring and you know people act up when they are tired LOL.
  3. We don't like people ....It's not that we don't like people we just value the few friends we have.
  4. We always want to be alone.....There's nothing wrong with a little alone time, it's a time for us to escape the hustle and bustle of the world and gather our thoughts.
  5. We don't know how to have fun.... IIIII know how to have fun ok.

I've always been quite shy and reserved for as long as I can remember and I like to think it's down to the fact that i have constantly been surrounded by loud and outgoing people in my family....soo that's why im quiet ? LOL i don't know nor do I really care tbh :D.

2016 is my selfish year... meaning i will be doing what makes me happy and what i have always wanted to do starting with this daily blog  'VP The Introvert'.

Sooo Follow me on this journey.
